The Go Pass initiative offers nonprofits a simple, easy and reliable screening process for volunteers, which will help reduce costs and enhance safety and security. Go Pass aims to increase the capacity of volunteerism at nonprofits serving children and youth, the elderly, and other vulnerable populations.
Volunteers with a Go Pass can think more broadly and creatively about where they want to volunteer and contribute to the well-being of New York, its neighborhoods and residents.
Organizations accepting Go Pass will streamline and strengthen their background check process, and will not need to check volunteers who already have a Go Pass.
Go Pass is the first program in the country to provide a simple way to clear volunteers.
"We are a diverse city of people who do so many things. Volunteering is a way to channel this spirit of community and compassion and direct it to solving our biggest problems."
