
The Applicant Gateway is the secure website used by the NYC Department of Education to collect information from people applying to work in our schools. It is also used for Go Pass applications.
You will need to use a computer with an Internet connection to apply. There are computers at the fingerprinting location which you are welcome to use.
The main steps to follow at the Applicant Gateway are:

Already have an account password for the Applicant Gateway? Skip to Step 2: Login.
Otherwise, click the Register link.

Enter and re-enter your Social Security Number.
Click Next.

Fill out the Registration Form.
Fields with a red asterisk are required.
Be careful to correctly type your email address.
Click the Submit button when done.

You will see this message when you have successfully registered.
Continue to Login.

Enter the email address and password for your Applicant Gateway account.
Use the Activate Account / Forgot Password link to reset the password if you don't know it.
Department of Education Employees and Vendors: If you already have an Applicant Gateway profile, but cannot log in or reset your password, please contact your volunteer coordinator for assistance.

When you log in for the first time, you will be on the Home screen, with "No applications found" at the bottom.
Click to view the instructions for Go Pass Volunteers.

In the instructions, click the link to generate and submit a new application.

A new application will appear.
Please select "Go Pass" from the menu at left.
Click the "Save" link on the right side to continue.
Please ignore the School Year column, it does not apply to Go Pass.

You are now back at the Home screen, with the new Go Pass application at the bottom of the screen.
The next step is to click "CONFIRM PROFILE" under Forms Requiring Action.

Verify the information that is already entered on your profile, and fill in any blank fields.
Click the Update button when finished.

Click the "Moral Questionnaire" link under Forms Requiring Action.

Fill out the Questionnaire by clicking Yes or No for each question.

If you answer Yes to any questions, a space will appear for you to provide more information and an explanation of the Yes answer.
When finished with the questions, check the agreement box at the bottom of the form, then click Submit.

The final step is to generate and print a referral form.
Click "Fingerprint Referral Form" under Forms Requiring Action.

If there is any profile information missing, you will see the Edit Profile screen. Fill in the missing fields and click Submit.
Read through the form and make sure that all information is correct. If there is any incorrect info, click Edit Profile at the top of the page.
Click the Submit button to submit the referral form.

It is recommended to print the referral form, if you have access to a printer, and bring it with you when you go to get fingerprinted.
To print the form, click on "Fingerprint Referral Form" under Submitted Forms.
When the form opens, go to File > Print in your web browser's menu, or type Ctrl+P, to print the form.
